BRAND MARKETER - RETAIL

The Brand Marketer - Retail will help shape NIC+ZOE’s brand strategy and communication across DTC channels, both in-store and online. This role will be responsible for the management and the execution of retail marketing initiatives, programs and campaigns including email marketing, in-store display, direct mail, special events, and advertising that raises the NIC+ZOE brand profile and strengthens sales. Candidate will facilitate cross-functional meetings between Creative Services, Retail, E-Commerce and Merchandising in order to align on marketing activations that achieve ROI for overall brand objectives. The ideal candidate should be able to concept and lead marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement and traffic to our retail stores and website. This role requires a creative, self-starter who is passionate about retail marketing and can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand Strategy
  • Partner with the internal Marketing team to lead, concept and develop Seasonal Marketing Plans and collection-based brand strategy.
  • Collaborate with the internal Design and Merchandising teams to understand collection inspiration and key storytelling messages.
  • Design and manage the strategy and creative inspiration for direct mail and email acquisition channels.
  • Build strong relationships within internal departments to ensure marketing message consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.


Brand Communications + Marketing Strategy

  • Manage the development, execution and roll out of retail marketing initiatives, budget and activities (includes creative concept development, determining assets and launch strategy).
  • Provide new and innovative brand communication proposals that improve brand awareness.
  • Partner with internal Retail and E-Commerce teams to build out the NIC+ZOE profile in-store and online .
  • Establish communication cadence with appropriate mall centers to develop local retail marketing strategy .
  • Produce / coordinate all retail events and sponsorship opportunities .


Analysis
  • Define key KPIs for retail marketing initiatives and activations and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure programs align with the overall brand strategy
  • Synthesize data generated from all retail marketing communications and deliver monthly ROI reports.
  • Deliver competitive analysis and identify trends through online research, monitoring social channels and conducting in-store visits; analyze results to help identify opportunities for future growth.
  • Leverage consumer and web analytics data to formulate strategic insights and deliver effective consumer led digital campaigns and brand experiences.

DESIGN ASSISTANT – WOVENS CUT+SEW/ DRESSES

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

In this entry level role, the Design Assistant will be an integral member of the design team, focusing on support and administration for the team overall. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the design team with sketches and revisions.
  • Organizing fabric and trim libraries
  • Prepare for garment fit meetings
  • Filling dolls and preparing presentation boards, as well as preparing for seasonal kick-off meetings
  • Request art files for ALL swatches that are purchased. Take photos of all new swatches/purchased garments and file them in correct folder on shared drives. Maintain organization by season.
  • Scan and save trims for color keys.
  • Own all levels of material organization (swatches, boards, tech pack bins, buttons) as well as assisting design with color matching
  • Scan and prepare original swatches being sent for development
  • Prepare and gather samples for fitting. Including woven and cut+sew components to make a complete outfit.
  • Assist with companywide events or needs such as the NIC+ZOE Annual Sample Sale, special events, Reception etc.
  • Evident skill set, ability and drive to take on additional responsibilities within the design group

MERCHANDSING ASSISTANT

The Merchandising Assistant will provide support to the merchandising team and will specifically support the Director of Merchandising. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Line Development
  • Support Merchandising Team to create tools for Design Kickoff
  • Create and maintain design templates throughout the development process
  • Input data for merchandise plans
  • Compile team information to create end of season recaps
  • Create visual guides for Buy Meetings
  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive benchmarking and prepare visual reference guides and reports
  • Provide strong organization support for the merchandising department

Merchandising Support for Sales
  • Manage deadlines, file prep and communicate with printers/freelancers to create order forms and workbooks
  • Create special size order forms
  • Create sales tools for reps, including but not limited to, Style Guides and Trend Guides
  • Partner with Sales Assistant to create and assemble Rep Binders, ship sales samples and maintain templates based on received orders
  • Identify special requests in Market Recaps and flow up to Merchandising Manager. Take necessary steps to create templates based on special requests.
  • Manage Style Master to ensure all Missy, Petite and Womens styles are passed to data entry in a timely manner so that orders may be entered
  • Ensure Product Managers/Tech/Design are clear on all Petite/Plus size styles through templates and style masters
  • Partner with Canadian distributors to confirm pricing and provide sales tools
  • Partner with Sales Assistant to prep for Natick sales appointments
  • Provide product swaps to customer service and sales team for cancelled styles
  • Support Merchandising Manager to create Product Knowledge guides for our private label ZOZO

KNITWEAR DESIGNER

The Knitwear Designer will create and execute on the vision of the Chief Creative Officer, ensuring that the product is consistent with market trends while maintaining the brand identity and supports overall business strategy. Candidates will have a passion for the NIC+ZOE brand and customer with a strong eye for trend and color. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organization skills with the ability to direct and develop junior designers.


The Designer will be an integral member of the design and development function. The Designer will be working in a fast paced team oriented environment.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the research, design and development of silhouettes in knits
  • Responsible for yarn sourcing and swatch development
  • Develop brand-appropriate knitwear in line with seasonal concepts and color palettes. Design with entire collection in mind.
  • Partner with Design and Product Manager to review lab dips
  • Sketch and present concepts based on design direction to COO
  • Set up tech packs and communicate design details to technical design team
  • Oversee prototype fittings. Correct technical details and sketches for samples.


OWNERSHIP

  • Participate in creative collaboration across the design team.
  • Drive and manage creative process to deliver projects on time and on budget; track and manage multiple project timelines in various stages of completion to ensure all timelines are met.
  • Ensure creative output is consistently brand appropriate
  • Manage the design and development process from concept through final proto/sample, including but not limited to flat sketch, initial spec, tech packs, trim details and production fit approval.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 year degree in Design or related field
  • 3 - 5 years of knitwear experience, high level of proficiency in knitwear
  • History of contributing innovations within a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of yarn and knitwear construction and finishes
  • Adept at understanding yarns; how to color top dyes and yarn dyes
  • Strong understanding of garment construction
  • Confident sense of style, silhouette and color
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet and exceed daily store sales and profit goals
  • Analyze and react to business trends regarding assortment, communicating sell through, stock levels, customer feedback and opportunities to increase sales to corporate office
  • Motivate staff to meet store goals and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure merchandising concepts are set up and maintained
  • Perform and supervise store opening/closing procedures including counting register funds, completing bank deposits, opening and closing registers, and securing facility
